The third step
Now we can get started. We build the vehicle according to the jointly developed project plan and keep you up to date with pictures of the intermediate steps.
The beginning is the boxer chassis and all add-on parts. After painting and powder coating, all threads must be cleaned and precisely recut. All bearings and sleeves are renewed, so that in the end the frame with swingarm and wheels are complete.
The most famous step is the so-called marriage, which means the union (installation) of the freshly rebuilt BMW two-valve boxer engine and the transmission into the chassis. Actually, one would like to start now, such a chassis with engine looks very aesthetic and shows a technology reduced to the essentials. Unfortunately, you can't start without electrics and wiring harness, but we get these accommodated aesthetically as well.
Now it goes to the next department, the electricians are at work. The new wiring harness is pulled in and all connections to the engine, speedometer, handlebar switch and the vehicle lights are made. This is written quickly in one sentence, but in reality it takes about 10-12 working hours. Once all the electrical functions are in place, it's back to chassis construction.
Finally, the paint parts, i.e. tank and mudguards, as well as the seat are mounted. Now the bike stands before us for the first time in its full and complete glory. This is the end of phase three, and the next step is the real thing. The first push on the starter button follows.
