The final phase
Now it gets exciting. After all fluids have been filled, the first pressure on the starter head is imminent. For this, an oil pressure gauge is connected to be sure that the lubrication system is working properly.
Once the engine has started, the first basic adjustments are made to the ignition and carburetor idle system. In addition to the mixture and ignition timing, the synchronization of the throttle slides and throttle cables is checked and adjusted if necessary.
Once the basic settings have been made, the engine is taken to the dynamometer. Here, the engine spools off its first kilometers under real conditions in the lower speed and load range. The carburetor settings for the lower and medium speed ranges are then adjusted. Once everything is working perfectly, the boxer engine has to show what it's made of for the first time. In addition to the exhaust gas values, power and torque are also checked and recorded. If all the values are in order, the first test drive is made on the road. The first test ride is a short one of about 5 km, then it goes back to the workshop. The bike is visually checked, if necessary levers, handlebars or switches are corrected in their position.
Now comes the pleasure part, the test and acceptance ride is on the program. We ride every extensively rebuilt or restored motorcycle for about 100 km. This test drive is part of our QM system. All driving situations are tested, the braking and cornering behavior is tested and of course the stability at top speed is tested.
Back in the workshop, a 150-point check is run through and everything is finally checked. All screws and connections are tightened, the vehicle is cleaned and made ready for delivery.
Now it can go back to its owner. We are convinced that a product can hardly be more sustainable. This technology has given your owner 30-40 years of pleasure and faithful service. After rebuilding it can be another 40 years. These 80 years are arithmetically more than 10 electric vehicles and toxic batteries. We are not against progress, but we believe that preservation can often be better than renewal.
