Cylinder head valve guide renewal – per piece
Renewing a valve guide is a complex process that requires a great deal of expertise and the appropriate tools and machines. First, the old valve guide is pressed out and a new base bore is created. The new valve guide is mounted in a special way: By cooling with liquid nitrogen to -196 °C and heating the cylinder head, the valve guide is shrunk to fit precisely, ensuring a perfect and permanent, tight fit.
After that, the valve guide is honed to size on the inside and given a cross-hatch pattern. Finally, the valve seat insert is precisely machined on a Serdi 100 contour milling machine to achieve the optimum shape and sealing effect. The result is an exact, long-lasting valve guide for maximum engine performance.
- Press out the old valve guide
- Create a new base bore
- Heat the cylinder head in a heating furnace
- Shrink valve guide with the help of liquid nitrogen (-196°C)
- Hone the inside of the valve guide to the final dimension and create cross-hatch grinding
- Precisely machine the seat ring on the SERDI 100 contour milling machine
Note: In the case of multi-cylinder engines, the price is reduced if the valve guides are replaced and machined at the same time, possibly together with the valve seat inserts. Please obtain a separate quotation for this.
