BMW 2-Valve Carburetor Tuning and SE Ignition System Individual Programming
The carburator package Expert is for all two-valve boxers that have a programmable SE ignition system in addition to more extensive modifications to the exhaust, air filter, carburetors or engine.
In addition to all the basic settings of the Basic carburetor package, various driving conditions are run under load on our dynamometer and the exhaust gas values are measured in real time. Based on these measurements, the jets and jet needles are determined. Then, every 500 rpm, the engine speed is approached and the ignition timing is determined by means of the test bench realtime torque measurement.
This process is repeated until the mixture and ignition perfectly fit your boxer and its periphery. Finally, the power and torque at the rear wheel and clutch are measured again.

Note: Any carburetor adjustment or tuning only makes sense if the carburetors, engine and ignition system are working correctly. If the carburetors have never been overhauled, it is recommended that this work be done before a tune-up. However, this also involves sealings that cannot be achieved so easily. First and foremost here are the O-rings of the throttle shaft. These are usually hardened after 30 years and no longer seal correctly. As a result, the engine draws secondary air and adjustment and smooth engine running is no longer possible. In the worst case, this can lead to engine damage because the mixture is too lean.
An adjustment is not a panacea. If your motorcycle spits and jerks, it is usually not done with just one adjustment. If this is the case, we recommend our diagnostic package.
