Basically there are three different suspension systems: Twinshock, Monolever and Paralever. 

  • Twinshock models with two rear shock absorbers (built up to1984) fork diameter 36mm
  • Monolever models (one rigid swingarm, built 1985-1993) fork diameter 38,5mm
  • Paralever models (one swingarm with joint on the cardan, built from 1991) fork diameter 41mm
  • GS models with Paralever (one swingarm with joint on the cardan) fork diameter 40mm
  • GS models models with Monolever (one rigid swingarm) fork diameter 38,5mm

If you are not sure, just measure the fork diameter with a caliper or give us a call.

Motorcycle fork reworking and fork conversion

As an expert for BMW Café Racer conversions, our goal is to combine classic optics with current driving characteristics and safety technology. The motorcycle fork plays an important role for the overall driving behavior and also in extreme situations, such as emergency braking or evasive maneuvers. Although the classic look is wanted at Café Racern, this does not automatically exclude driving pleasure as on current models. A fork conversion on the motorcycle is only part of the extensive work we do. First and foremost, we carry out the reconstruction of your Motorcycle fork as part of conversion work, but this is generally also possible individually, for other conversion projects or other models. Furthermore, we can shorten the fork pipes and lower the fork to BMW R45, R65, R80 and R100. In addition, you will find a wide range of parts for maintenance or conversion of your motorcycle fork, such as simmer rings, dust caps, steering head bearings, bellows sets, fork damping systems or standpipe models for all classic BMW two-cylinders.

The motorcycle fork determines handling and driving behavior

In addition to a complete overhaul of the original fork, we also offer to revise your motorcycle fork. A fork conversion on the motorcycle can lead to completely changed driving characteristics, often a bike feels like a completely new machine afterwards. The motorcycle fork is not only essential for handling, but also determines the comfort and stability of the bike.

Fork springs: Specially tailored to the BMW forks, made of high-strength OTEVA 70 spring steel and linearly wound replacement spring sets for perfect response and sufficient reserves. Included in the delivery are possibly necessary prestressing sleeves, as well as the corresponding fork oil. You can choose between three different oil viscosities in order to optimally adjust the fork to your needs.

Fork adjusters: By installing the SE fork adjusters, the spring bias can be easily adjusted from the outside on the forks of the BMW two-valve models. This allows adaptation to personal driving, sporty or tourist, solo or with a social, more driving stability or easier handling. Adapt your motorcycle to your preferences. The fork conversion gives you this possibility.

Sport-Evolution damping system: Due to the Sport-Evolution fork damping system, the aged BMW front mutates into a modern motorcycle fork, as can be found today in an R-NineT.
The forks can be adapted practically to any driving condition. The spring prestress, the compression stage and the tension stage can be adjusted, and everything can be easily carried out from the outside. But you don't have to be a chassis engineer. All systems come with a fixed basic setting, which helps them with easy-to-understand instructions should they want to make changes.
