The BMW SE Cafe Racer is rightly named Racer. The country road flies by, the tires literally soak up the asphalt. The custom bike impresses with razor-sharp handling, contemporary braking performance and plenty of cornering fun. The seat geometry is front-wheel oriented, yet balanced and not at all uncomfortable. 
Sport Evolution's classic BMW Cafe Racer is comfortable without trying to hide its sporty origins. With our custom bikes we offer many different combinations, for example the rear of a cafe racer and the front of a roadster.  For bikers who need room for a pillion from time to time, a combination of a roadster 2-person seat and handmade aluminum hump cover is well suited. This converts the Racer from 1- to 2-person operation in no time at all. 
Our cafe racers are equipped with Bridgestone BT45R tires. The tires provide plenty of grip and razor sharp handling. The fork is shortened 50 mm and the rear is raised 10 mm. This shifts the weight to the front wheel, which also makes the overall weight distribution 60% in favor of the front. The BMW SE Cafe Racer offers maximum feel and confidence on twisty country roads, but still enough comfort for longer trips despite its sporty design.

Which BMW series are suitable for the Café Racer conversion?

 

For the motorcycle conversion to the Cafe Racer, models of the BMW-R and BMW-K series are preferred. At Sport-Evolution, we primarily use BMW R-series motorcycles as the basis for our conversions. The distinctive two-cylinder boxer engine delivers a lot of power, is reliable and still impresses with a throaty sound.

Motorcycles from BMW: A look back in history

 

BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke GmbH) has been building motorcycles since 1923. The first model in the history of the traditional Bavarian brand is the BMW R 32, which was developed by engineer Max Friz. The bike set standards even back then, which is why it remains an integral part of German motorcycle history to this day.
The longitudinally mounted boxer engine with 2 cylinders was very flat and ensured a low center of gravity, which benefited the driving characteristics - at least for the time. The R 32 was the basis for many other motorcycle models of future generations. However, key components such as the engine, transmission and chassis remained largely identical. The increase in displacement was implemented primarily through modified cylinders or cylinder bores.
